Real Recognize Real Records Inc. (TripleR) was officially founded in 2018 by G-Chile and Bizz Loc, two friends from the Eglinton West neighbourhood of Toronto, however, the seed for this had been planted nearly a decade before, while Bizz was serving a 9 year stint in the Federal Penitentiary. During this time, he began to take his talents more seriously, and after being put on to his lyrical prowess from a mutual friend from their area, he spit some bars for G-Chile, (a well respected OG in the underground Toronto music scene), during one of their many collect calls. While incarcerated, G-Chile featured him on his “Westside Story” mixtape, on an interlude titled “Bars behind bars”, which was recorded over the phone, and Bizz began building a reputation as the sickest rapper in the entire Federal system, performing for hundreds of inmates on numerous occasions.
Once released in 2016, the two homeboys, who had forged an unbreakable bond during Bizz’s 6 years in prison, began to formulate a plan for Toronto Hip-hop dominance, with Bizz recording songs while on parole and living in a halfway house, as well as contributing to G-Chile’s “Shine” EP on the hypnotic “Toppa Top”. Once his parole was completed and he returned to Toronto full-time, they took the name created by Bizz when he was locked up, Real Recognize Real Records, an ode to the streets that they were representing, and ran with it. With numerous projects set for release, and big plans for their label, Bizz Loc and G-Chile hope to make TripleR a staple in the Hip-hop game, and as a vanguard for their city, help shine a light on the hotbed of talent in Toronto and Canada as a whole.
